Becoming a published author by writing my personal story, has got to be one of the most vulnerable things I’ve ever done.
I remember handing in my final draft of Finding Happiness for Wild Woman Rising: Brave Woman Who Carved Their Own Path by Ashwin Publishing, and feeling so much nervous energy within me. To my surprise, all these negative feelings of perfection and judgement intensified in my solar plexus and naval chakra. I could feel this energy rise up to my heart, as I felt it beat faster, almost like the feeling of an Italian expresso but with all the extra emotions and thoughts.
What will others think of me? Will they like my story? How will this story impact my life? How will I be judged?
These thoughts and feelings are all normal and I suppose we have a choice: Do we allow these negative thoughts and feelings to take over or do we step out of our comfort zone and follow our dreams?

One of my favourite strategies to ease any limiting thought patterns, is to make the goal bigger than me.
I wrote the chapter with the intention that it will inspire other women to seek happiness, to find the courage to take risks and go on a journey. If only one woman reads my story, and is inspired to go on the journey, then I know the ripples of sharing my vulnerability was worth it.
So my goal was to inspire women, and being vulnerable and sharing my story to help others, wasn’t such a big deal anymore. For me, my chapter Finding Happiness was about sharing how much effort, time and energy I dedicated to this experience. It was my number one priority and it became my purpose in life.

Finding happiness, takes courage, personal development, effort, time, and you may need help and healing from others that have walked the path before you. The journey is on-going and what I have learnt is that happiness, like love, is a pure state of being and can be sustained when we go deep within ourselves. It’s about knowing who you are, letting go of limiting thoughts, feelings, beliefs and values that are holding you back from joy. In essence, it is connecting to your soul, the part of you that is formless, genderless and infinite.
When we connect to the soul, also known as the divine spark, we start to understand things from a different prospect. The soul is connected to an infinite source of energy and intelligence. It is what guides us in life whether we are conscious of it or not. Happiness allows your soul to shine, so it’s well worth the journey and effort.
Meditation is a great way to connect to the whispers of our soul. Like anything, it takes time and practise to meditate, to be still and aware. The main reason I meditate, is to access higher levels of consciousness and understanding. I love to facilitate meditation and share spiritual truths as I believe this is what is needed in our busy and complicated society. Meditation also has many health benefits particularly when you practise guided healing meditations and mantras. It teaches you to slow down and be aware of your senses.
Why not become conscious of this guiding light? What is there to fear? The possibility of more love, more healing and more intelligence and ultimately more happiness is all that I have found.
And most of all, meditation has helped me to turn my vulnerability into visibility and follow my dreams!
